“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.”Romans 1:16
These six truths, all from the book of Romans, lay out exactly what separates every person from God, and exactly what God has already done to close that gap.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one is exempt, not by effort, not by good intentions.
The wages of sin is death. Sin has a real cost, and we cannot pay it ourselves.
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God did not wait for us to get it right first.
If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.
The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, a gift, not a wage we could ever earn.
There is no condemnation for those in Christ. Nothing can separate us from God's love. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Salvation isn't about saying the exact right words, it's about a sincere heart turning to God. If this is where you are today, you might pray something like this, in your own words:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn to You now and ask You to save me and make me new. I confess You as my Lord. Thank You for Your gift of eternal life.
